I wanted to do laundry to get things out of the way for when Sam comes home - but had no detergent! I debated driving down to the store, but it was such a nice day out that I decided to walk it.
It was an awesome walk/run down to Knoche's to pick up milk and laundry detergent (and of course I come out with a pineapple as well b/c it smelled so good). Granted, most of the "running" was in segments of a block or less, but it felt nice to be moving along. It's the first time I've run since the mandatory stuff in high school gym classes, though I think in the long term I would prefer less impact, like biking or just walking. I'm not going to go nutso workoutaholic, but I'm tired of being out of shape.
To carry the pineapple, I took one of Tiffany's canvas bags (remembering for the first time in 2 months to do so :/ ... ) and I will try harder to remember in the future.
(Of course, when I get back home and rinse off, what do I see straightaway when I come out of the shower? A jug of laundry detergent on the top shelf...)
I've also started reading the book "In Defense of Food," which has been interesting so far. It is fueling my desire to become a hermit and live in the woods. XD Actually, it has some very valid points to make about processed foods and the food culture (or lack thereof) in America. I am only on the first chapter, but it has me interested enough to keep reading.
Additional: I emptied and refilled the flowerboxes on the porch after drilling holes in the bottom (after they had flooded disastrously and drowned all of our seeds. Of the flowerboxes that did have holes, the peas and beans are HUGE!! We also have rosemary, tomato plants, some mysterious herb that may or may not be parsley, and lots and lots of basil. I felt very productive today, despite the fact that I did not study astronomy at all. 9_9
Here are pictures!
Tomorrow I may plant carrots!
