Buh-Bye!

If anyone has seen my brain, I'd like it returned before I have to go to work tomorrow. Its fairly important.

Today started out fine. FINE! Luke let me sleep to a reasonable time, we got out of the house on time, got to work on time! One of my kids came in newly in underwear. Yay! Then about an hour after I got to work, Luke's daycare called. He'd fallen on (er, jumped into) a table and smashed his nose and they were alarmed enough to call me. So I called his doc, who said "Get thee to a room for emergencies with much haste."
And I said "dang it" while thinking things the parents of my students would not like to hear upon pick-up.

So I went home, packed an ER bag (snacks, drink, books, toys) and went to pick up the PERKIEST gravely injured boy you ever did see. We went to the QuickCare clinic (like the ER, but smaller... Still associated with the hospital, though) and were seen fairly painlessly. Got out about 1.5 hours later. Nose =/= broken, give him Motrin, here's an Rx for decongestant (snot + swelling nasal area = not good) and some SteriStrips for the cut. That's how hard he hit his head on the edge of the table. He cut himself with it. I don't blame his teachers for playing it safe...
I could have sent him back to school, but for how perky and conversational he was being, he was also in pain. I could tell because he was sitting on my lap pretty much the whole time, which was shocking. but we managed to make it to swim lessons anyway.

After that, I got in and out of the car so often, I lost my brain along the way. I left the milk in the car for an hour and a half (was still cold! Hell froze over). I forgot I promised to let Luke play his new video game ("bi-dee-OH game") on Larry until he reminded me about 5 minutes before bed. The best? I forgot my clip-on sunglasses in a buggy at Wal*Mart. My new ones. The ones that came with my new frames. The ones that were THE REASON I got these frames in the first place. So far no one has turned them in.
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh...

health, kiddo
