So, I am back for a short (ha, maybe, maybe not) rant about closets. You know which ones I am talking about. Walk-ins closets. When you have them you think they are so big, and then you try to fit all your clothes in them and the door flies off because you have too much...
just kidding... (
rant on.... )
About it being Christianity's fault that AIDS is so widespread by suppressing gays is, as I see it, is...off. ANY group that is trying to build it's population will encourage heterosexual behavior and condemn homosexuals. Once a norm of disliking a group has been set, it takes a lot of effort to change the way people have been raised to think.
You may have seen of this in Japan. Some gay guys have girlfriends simply so they can uphold the appearance of being "acceptable," then go to gay clubs to meet other gays. Are you willing to argue that it's Christianity's fault Japanese people ostracize homosexuals and therefore cause the spread of AIDS?
I can understand where you're coming from, but blaming this all on Christianity is a bit much. The US never separated church and state, so the church is used to do the state's dirty work at times. Being a system of ideas, religion is malleable (or there probably would never have been any Crusades nor any al-Qaeda); all you have to do is find scriptural text to "support" your ideas. Since the survivalist tradition to reproduce never really faded, it's much easier to twist what is written into something a person believe outside of what's actually written in their religious text.

anyway, probably still not clear what I meant, and mean, but then it is not always clear to me either, and I do not always use the correct words to say what I mean anyway...

I blame myself too, because I am doing nothing, I am not aiming blame at any one group... But my want for blame is ONLY coming from my being pissed, because in all honesty, blame does NOT matter, what matters is the whether someone makes an effort to change it.
