HORRIBLE

On January 19, 2005 at 3:00pm, a sophomore driver - from Lewis-Palmer High School - of a Dodge Neon was driving a frontage road next to interstate 25, and County line road. The speedlimit of the road is 45mph and around the curve, it is recomended that drivers slow to 35mph. The young high school student had 3 other people in the car while going 105mph on this frontage road. He went around the curve and hit an oncoming Suburban, and rolled three or four times. Sara Lassaso (14) was ejected from the car on one of the three rolls and the car rolled over her killing her instantly. The other female passanger was hurt badly and had to be rushed to the hospital by Flight for Life. She suffers from a punctured lung, and bladder, a broken hip, broken thigh and a shattered knee. She also has blood in her brain but the doctors hopefull feel that will heal in time. The driver and the other male survived with slight head injuries. I knew this girl. A friend. It was hard and still is. I am never going to forget her! She left me, she left her family, she is gone! Her world ended so suddenly and changed everyone knew along with it.
