Both of their innocent enthusiasm over different things. Both having to hide their feelings. Interesting comparisons.

I often wonder just how different yet the same they both are.

I'm beginning to wonder if I can keep this up though. It's made me realise how little I know about children *clings*

I think you are doing grand - and all you need to know is about people; I don't really think we change that much as we grow up. And we have been out at a wedding all weekend, so I am now catching up ((hugs))!!

I think Harry's gift has more meaning because it was "given" to him by Nature, and he earned it by digging for it. Whereas Draco's ought to have been worked for, but was simply given to him by his father.
Once again, a poignant look on two boy's rival upbringing. Great job!

Thanks - that's an interesting insight. I've often wonder if Lucius used to 'bribe' Draco into accepting his version of events.

Hmm... a child usually just takes on their parents' view of the world as fact. Only after they've seen the world themselves do they adopt their own views, though some of them will, of course, be the same as their parents'.
Don't know if "bribe" would be a good word, maybe "proving" his own righteousness though "facts" of his own devising. Hmm... requires more thought, I think. You've delved (god I love that word these days! *G*) into an area of life (and parenting) that can stir up discussions. *G*

Somehow I read so much between the lines. These are beautiful little vignettes.

Glad to know that is stuff between the lines. I'm amused that in the comments no one picked up the start of Lucius' indoctrination of his son.

damn woman! these are fabulous. again. the contrasts you've been showing are perfect. you are outlining who they are and why in 100 words a day. briliant.

Oh, sweetie - thank you! It means a lot to me that you like these. I'm starting to struggle a bit because I've realised that I actually know very little about children.

Hope your Saturday is going well
