Candles in a library. That's … fuck, an open flame in a place filled with dry old paper. Wait, lots of open flames! I'm amazed that they still have records dating back to the 4th blight, they must have fires breaking out in the place every other week.

I guess it would explain why they've sent pre-joining recruits in there to study. They're expendable.

I do have a problem with the fact that they've sent in these kids to read all the warden secrets, don't they have to either Join or die now?

Well they were already past that point. Once they asked to join and the wardens said they could, their options were Joining or Death (or both). Atleast that's how I've read it from Origins.

I think Surana, Maharirl and Tabris might dispute the statement "Garahel was the greatest elven hero that Thedas had ever known!"

Comparatively speaking, the Fifth Blight was a blip in Thedas's histories. Confined solely to Ferelden, news of it had probably barely reached the southern capitals before the Hero of Ferelden had squashed it down, not like the size and duration of the Fourth Blight.

It's a scope thing. :)

As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the Fifth Blight was hardly a Blight at all.
