Mass Effect spoilers

Okay, I'm sorry to ask this, but it keeps coming up.

Please, everyone, please can you not post Mass Effect spoilers in here? I haven't been able to play that trilogy yet, and I really want to, and I don't want to know anything about what happens beforehand. But I keep running across spoilers in here that are mentioned by people comparing ME to DA ( Read more... )

I was living with my older brother when he and his wife had their first kid. I was unemployed at the time, so I was pretty much just a live in babysitter. I found that I could play games while looking after my nephew because he was at the age where he was aware of the world around him, but couldn't move around again.

I would put him on my bed while I sat on a chair next to it and played gamed on my xbox. He would see me using the controller and would want to take part, so I gave him a spare controller and he would chew on it while we played. It was great, I'd check he was still breathing every couple of minutes, and he'd be happy to sit there with me for up to an hour sometimes.

One day we were doing this when there came an almighty BANG from the floor, followed immediately by screams. I looked over to the bed and my nephew wasn't there. I looked down at the hardwood floor next to my bed, and there he was. It was the first time he ever rolled himself over, and he managed to do it right off my bed.

So yeah, spending large chunks of time playing games while looking after a small child doesn't always work.

Yep, that! During the period where she was young enough to not move, I was either 1) so sleep-deprived all I did was stare into space dribbling a lot, or 2) recovering from a really difficult birth, or 3) moving house (oh, the day when we put all the video games into boxes for moving was sad!). She learned to crawl fast and now needs pretty constant supervision. I should get my husband to play the ME series and then watch him play it while also watching her. ...or convince him to watch her every evening so I can game, that'd be much better! ;) As it is I get my video game fix on buses and during my lunch break at work and the like, hence the portable consoles only. Anyone released Mass Effect for something handheld?

Mass Effect Infiltrator was released for IOS devices. I don't have an iphone or ipad, so I don't know much about it.

I had Infiltrator for Android, but my poor phone was overtaxed by it so I don't have a very good review.

And ohhh, we all have stories like that, all of us! All babies get dropped on their heads. No wonder people are so strange! ;)

Huh, I've just remembered, there was a period where I was able to play games, but I was usually breastfeeding at the same time, so I deliberately went looking for games that could be played with only one free hand. Monster smiting didn't work so well for that, alas! But all the old school point and clicks were mine. ;) (man, I'd forgotten, I was so out of it during those months)
