New Shelves -- How Exciting!
I just got a phone call from the IKEA delivery guy and he should be on my doorstep first thing tomorrow morning with a bunch of shelving. That puts them one day ahead of the predicted delivery, so that's working out better than
aderam's order. (Both of us live in places without a nearby IKEA, so it ships from Montreal.) Funny how the price of Billy bookcases has remained almost constant over the last 25 years...
When we were splitting up the household I was still hoping I could afford to keep the house, along with the built-in bookcases I built into it. So by the time I moved out just before the sale, the only freestanding bookshelf left was a 25 year old Billy that's a little the worse for wear. Needless to say, that's not enough for my books by a good long way. So I dithered for a while about what should I buy and where would it go and how should I get it here, and of course it was summer, so I was away quite a bit and otherwise not being much of a homebody. Still, with this shipment I should be fully moved in. Except for a bit of a curtain shortage, but I'm getting there.
