Green Day Concert <3

I totally saw Green Day last night. And took nearly 600 pictures. Not kidding. Only about 200 were the best. XD

So. To begin.
When we got there, we had to go back to the car about 5 times because they kept telling us things we couldn't bring in.
Couldn't wear studded belts. No chains. No bags. No glow sticks. No drinks. No cameras. The list continues.
But it turned out we could bring digital cameras in if they could fit in your pocket. Thank God.
But we had to take the clips off of our keychains. Apparently they can be "made into cheap brass knuckles."  Because anyone there wants to fuck around at a GD concert? Whatever....
Anyway. We got in. It was sweet.
I forgot my spare camera battery in my bag, which they made me take back. That sucked. Thankfully, my camera lasted until the last real song of the encore. (There were two more, but it was just Billie Joe singing with an acoustic guitar under a spotlight.
Anywho.
Before the concert, you could text to get your pics put up on the jubotron screen thing. We sent in like 5 and got one up there. Ha...
The Bravery were pretty good, but you couldn't really tell what he was saying.
At one point, Tre shot off the explosions and the lead singer of the Bravery practically fell over. He sang a song and dedicated it to Tre afterwards. "That was for you, Tre."
At one point they were talking amongst themselves and they kinda shrug and go, "We don't know any more Green Day songs. Do we? No, we don't."
They started just after 7 30, I was surprised. (It was supposed to start 7 30, so they were on time.)
The Bravery played until 8. Then GD got on and rocked until 11.
It kicked ass.
There was a cityscape made of LCD screens that burned down, got graffitied, rained on, turned into a night city, got bombed, got postered with propaganda, and turned into stacked TVs which fell, static-ed, displayed images, and closeups of the guys' faces.
Awesome.
Some explosions and fires, but not as many as I would have expected.
Early on, Billie called for a child. "I need a kid." Followed by very creepily, "I like children...."
He was asking "Who wants to be saved?" Pulled the kid up and began the song East Jesus Nowhere, which, if you know, began with "Let's see how godless a nation we have become...." Had the kid pretend to be shot and fall backwards and lay dead on the stage.
Then he kicked him off. "Get off my stage. You only get to be saved once. This is my stage. Get the fuck off. *laugh*"
He pulled out a big old watergun at one point and shot people. Dragged someone from the audience to shoot people.
He wanted a Detroit Tigers hat and took one and wore it for a while. "We are Green Day of Detroit."
Told us all about the first time they played Detroit. Said he was 18 and scared shitless of Detroit.
A bit later, he found some pink and white hat he wanted and when they threw it up, there was some cloud of smoke and he decided it was pot smoke, declaring that the whole area smelled like pot.
Did some humping of the mic stand, and mooned the crowd.
Pulled lots of people onstage.
Wanted someone to play guitar for JoS, asked some kid what key it was in. He said he didn't know and Billie Joe screamed "WRONG." And found someone else.
Some kid came up to sing Longview and lost the last verse. Billie kicked him off stage and demanded a girl. She got it. He made her crowd surf and they took her the opposite way that she needed to go. "She's still going? Watch your hands, boys."
Fists in the air, lots of "Hey!"s and "Heeeeey-ooohhhhhh"s.
He held one out for like a minute and expected the crowd to copy him. And we did.
He pulled out Macy's Day Parade. That was cool.
Billie Joe comes out in a police cap. "This is the Detroit Police. I know what you're doing out there. Stop what you're doing." Into KfaD.
King For A Day-Lots of rainbow lights. Billie Joe humped the floor. And played with his nipples. And did some sort of groping thing. Sax feature with Jason. Segway to Shout, Earth Angel, Stand by me, and Shout again.
Lots of swearing. He never stood still. Tre threw his drumsticks behind him about every other song, only to pull out another pair. Mike was jumping around. Jason liked to stand in front of an upside-down american flag that looked like it had tire track marks on it.
At the end, Tre brought out handfuls of drumsticks and threw them into the GA crowd.
Pretty much a fantastic show. Fucking awesome.
Next time I AM getting GA tix, no matter what.
That's all for now, until I remember something else.
Also, once GD came out, no one sat down for the next 3 hours.

It all seems like a dream. :D
When I get time, I'll post pics.
