NaNoWriMo
So I hit over 10,000 words today and got to meet a few other NaNo writers, which was fun (and productive)! I'm really happy to have this thing already over 20% done. If I keep this up, I'll be at least two days ahead tomorrow, if not more. I only need 2,079 words tomorrow to be two days ahead and I'm going to be pushing myself this weekend to write even more. I've never tried to write something as long as a novel before and, while a little frustrating at times, it's a lot of fun, too.
I'm definitely going to be doing this again next year. Maybe next year I'll actually have an outline made out and know what I want to write about earlier than just an hour before the writing is set to begin. I won't be making any plans for November, though. This project has taken on a life of its own (which I love) and is a huge time sink. I'm looking forward to refining my writing and reading back through for the editing in December.
