Today, I rode my bike to school instead of riding the bus. I took this opportunity to look at apartments I am interested in renting next year that are right around campus. I woke up, showered, made lunch, and was out the door by 9, giving me enough time to ride around 8th ave and still make it to class early.
Unfortunately, I ran into a friend on the way to class, so I did not get to go into class early and begin reading like I had hoped. I did read some after class in Marston, and found that I may need close to three hours to read and study for each lecture. This realization does not make me happy, initially, but in order to get the grades I want, it is what needs to be done. I just need to allot time a couple nights a week and once over the weekend.
After reading, I ran into my friend again, but I did not get suckered into lingering around and being late for class. In class, I was able to review my notes from the last couple of days in physiology while we watched a short film. Current class projection also dictates my bringing the book on Thursday, as well.
I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening blowing off some steam however. I cooked, played a couple rounds of soul calibur, and had a beer with my friend. Despite all of my better intentions, I couldn't seem to motivate myself to engage in my reading. This week, I have tried to separate my roles into larger chunks of time, so I do not feel so scattered and disoriented. I feel like it may take a while and a deal of willpower to feel the effects of time-chunking and grasp the motivation to work.
