Huh. So Canadian women's soccer team lost to Sweden 2-1 but we're still going to the quarterfinals thanks to everyone else's results! Hurray!
The Swedes totally deserved that one, too, because at least they remembered how to pass, unlike SOME PEOPLE. I was sat there going "GIRLS. YOU PASS TO THE RED SHIRTS. NOT THE YELLOW. STOP IT." (They didn't always pass to the other team though! Sometimes they passed to thin air!) Not that we were TOTALLY horrible, because we weren't (Melissa Tancredi's goal was gorgeous, I just wish she'd managed to get a few more of them), just extremely outclassed, as Sweden were much more technically proficient. AND CAN PASS TO THE RIGHT TEAM, HAVE I MENTIONED THAT. But still, this is the first time they've even qualified for the Olympics so I'm terribly proud of them all the same.
Next we play the Americans! This should be exciting! By which I mean we're screwed. /o\
