State of the Dragon

It's been a while, huh? I should really update this thing more often, even though most of you don't read this anyway.

So what's been going on lately? A whole lot yet not a whole lot. It's hard to explain.

Work is the main culprit here. Now, I have an alright job. But the thing I'm learning now is that it's ultimately a service job. Something breaks, it's your job to fix it. At anytime. And sometimes anywhere. When something breaks in the bakery industry, if it's not fixed timely, you lose a lot of money. If you aren't producing, it's a bad situation. And factories work all hours of every day of the week. You could be woken up in the middle of the night to help think through a broken-down problem.

Installation of new equipment is best done during their downtime, which is often a Friday or Saturday. While some people rejoice a Friday, I fear it, for it seems like that's when all the problems arise. And at worst, I have to give up my entire planned weekend for work. To say the least, it irks me a lot.

My current job isn't something I want to stay in long-term. I'm here because of location and for experience in my field. It pays decently, but not anything that I could be making given my field and degree. Lack of experience is what's keeping me where I am. It's not a bad company to work for, mind you, just the field I'm in is not for me in the long-run.

But, overall, I've just been feeling 'blah' lately. Not good, not horrible, just...'meh'. More social interaction is what I need: hanging out, playing games, mindless chitchat. Stuff to take my focus off of work.

That is all. Enjoy the day.
