Snotty & Disrespectful?!

May 02, 2008 20:18

There was a post on the sims2 community I am a member of here on LJ today that a few of us posted on... wow. If you have read it, you'll know the one that I mean... hell what else would ignite my temper enough to spark me to write a non story post on here?!

But aside from the general snark in most of this person's replies, there was a comment she made that knocked me for six. "all the comments made to my by that person are always sarcastic, snotty, and disrespectful." The irony in that one sentence alone was floor smacking, but the anger I felt on behalf of the person it was about.... wow.

nameless_cricke's posts, replies, comments, & overall activity in that community are almost always intelligent & helpful. I've NEVER seen her write something that could be classified as 'snotty'. Sarcastic yes, but we all do that & there's nothing wrong with that when it's not done with intention to be cruel, which hers aren't.

In fact, nameless_cricke is one of the first people I think of at the moment to suit the requirements necessary for being a Mod for that, or any, LJ community. She is often the first on the scene with a good, & often correct, answer to a 'help me?' topic. She is both computer savvy & knowledgeable about the game. She watches numerous sites to do with the sims2, & often is the first in with news or information to share with the community.

Damn to anyone who thinks nameless_cricke is mean, they're just taking her the wrong way & need to learn how to function in the real life that happens outside their own 4 bloody walls. Text does not carry tone very well, that's a given, but if you are unsure - ASK nicely & I'm sure you'll find it a misunderstanding. She deserves a lot of respect for the effort she puts in there for people she does not even know.

I haven't made any reply in the topic/thread/post/comment page as anything I would write will only instigate an argument or fuel a fight, which isn't something I'm interested in. I'm sure the mods of the site will deal with it appropriately.

I'll hop down of this soap box now, but I really needed to say that one piece out loud & in public.
