TS3: Voices

Feb 15, 2010 13:35

For those of you that have played TS3, you should know the female voice - I think the middle one. Or at least, the laugh from it. The one that sounds like the sim is just speakingAh ha ha ha ha with the strained facial expression to match the forced laughter.

Last night, in a restaurant in Perth's Chinatown, I heard it. Not from someone playing on a laptop - from a real person. I think they were originally Singaporean, but she'd spent some time in Canada & her voice had that warp of clashing accents. But when she laughed, it was that forced sounding sims 3 laugh.

I gave Pete this sudden, wide eyed, roo-in-headlights panicked look & he goes, "What?! What's happened?" & has possibly thought I'd found something in my food that shouldn't be there. Now, he despises the sims. Almost as much as he hates Second Life. That said however, he is also the person that bought me the TS3 Collectors Edition for my birthday last year & the WA expansion for Christmas. It says so much more than those 3 words ever can. So I've given him this pained look & gone, "The woman at the table over there with the hellish laugh? She might just be a voice actor from ts3." He looked at me, looked at her & looked at me again before he laughed. "Are you going to message Rachel?" "She's in Wisconsin at the moment. I don't think her number will work." & I grinned, "I'll blog it when we get home." He poured me another cup of tea & shook his head, grinning.

As it was, we sat down & watched Zoolander when we got home instead. The idea behind the Derelicte show just made me wonder if Mugato's style was based off the late, great Alexander McQueen.

On a side note; the Lion dancers were spectacular.

Happy New Year!!
