Washington Trip
We went to the Swedish Embassy aside from immigration Sam had to get a new passport (he's not a citizen of the US). We asked our questions about immigration and found Isadora is already a Swedish citizen, all we have to do for her as register her since they are well unaware of her birth. I have to apply obviously, which involves forms and documentation of our marriage, and who I am and such, for a personal ID number which is sort of the equivalent of Sam's greencard the process (which we haven't started yet b/c we need more marriage certificates here they are used for everything if you are ever married you'll find you can't even rent an apartment here without it). The process takes 6-8 months though if we start soon they doubt it'll take long and said they don't foresee problems. The glitch is once we start I can't be in Sweden when the decision is made or its void so unless we hurry and its made before X-mas we can't go then. We'll have to go to Washington probably again and it sounds like New York (dread) for my interview. We need to get started post haste.
The trip to Washington was mostly 20 hrs in 2 days in the car. Our hotel was nice there was a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom obviously plus breakfast and a gym and it was like $200 night but that includes the parking in the parking deck and it was like 5 seconds from the embassy. Everything in Georgetown where we were is hideously over-priced mostly the clothes shops were all designer. So we bought nada while we there. We walked like 6 miles or more in 90 degree weather and I got a little sunburned (I decided I had to splash with water to cool off so now I have a weird sunburn not like uniform but you know a strip here and there) but we did see a few things The White House, the outside of the Washington Monument, The National Geographic Museum, an Aquarium the Smithsonian was closed for construction and we didn't have much time anyways. I think I got a bit of heat exhaustion or something of the like too.
