I am just finding this information out, but I am making this post for my friend, Rocky.
Edmund Edward Hollub, called Rocky by all of us who were his friends while he was in the US Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, died in Iraq. He was ambushed along with Sgt. Chen and both lost their lives. 15 soldiers died and I knew a few of them and I feel the loss acutely.
Rocky died a hero, defending this country overseas, and I will miss him for the rest of my life. He was someone I honestly cared about and called a best friend. We lost touch when I left my exhusband and I regret that.
Now, I can never hear him laugh again; or thank him for getting me hooked on Cowboy Bebop; or watch movies no one would think to rent; or race around in his car while scaring old people; or tell jokes no one else gets; or make cookies he paid $80 for at a bake sale. I lost someone and I can never have him back.
