What: The Dementors Event

[Just before the morning bells begin to ring to announce the start of classes, some individuals will feel a quick and light pinch. Upon looking at their devices the following message will appear to scroll in time to the whispery voice they hear in their ears:
You disappoint me. My Halloween treat could have been used to much greater advantage, but you fell sadly short of my expectations. Even so, I will give you another chance to show Dumbledore's so-called "chosen" what power we truly wield, and once again, I will show my true strength. Dumbledore is a fool if he thinks he can keep me out for much longer, and as I open the way, I will make certain that the fools inside Hogwarts' walls know true despair. Be ready. Show me what you can do, and show Hogwarts the power of pure blood.
Professors all around Hogwarts will begin to sense the barrier as it begins to fluctuate under an unknown power, a power that continues to push until the magical barrier around the school begins to fracture and split like broken glass. The many floating candles and lights around the school flicker in warning as the Dementors patrolling on the other side begin to slip in. As they near the castle everything in their wake grows even colder and all lights fade, and Voldermort's voice heralds their arrival with one last warning and choice.]
Heroes of Hogwarts, you have done well to protect yourselves and your school, but you have been lucky to escape my full wrath thus far. This time, I will not be as lenient. Dumbledore thinks he can pull people from their worlds and use them against me? You newcomers will not be enough, and I will show you how worthless any faith you may have in your headmaster truly is. Those who join me will be spared, but those who continue to fight will suffer, and all your hopes will be crushed away.

Mod Note: Directly after the broadcast professor's will be instructing prefects to guide their appropriate students back to their dorms where they are to remain until further notice. Classes for the day are obviously canceled while the staff does their best to repair the damage done to the barrier and drive back the dementors.
You are free to make your own threads and encouraged to interact with one another against the Dementors. Successfully performing a Patronus Charm will drive the creatures towards the nearest exit and out of the castle. Chocolate and Hot Cocoa is still available in the infirmaries.
