State of the RP: End of the year edition.

Dec 05, 2011 18:15

Hello everyone, it’s been almost two months and here we are! Words can not express our gratitude for sticking with us during our Mod transition and slowness, and baring any unforeseen circumstances we will be working to become more organized so things run smoothly from here on out. We’ve got a lot of things to go over, so let’s get this party started.

1. Reserves are open for one more day, they will close at 4pm PST or 12am GMT tomorrow. Applications will be opening shortly after! So get in those last minute reserves and get ready to submit your applications.

2. We have been discussing changing the age limit for our game from 18 to 16. With that will come new 18+ adult based communities for our older players. This community will be locked and membership will be restricted to those players 18 and older. All posts in this community will remain members only. This means next reserve and application cycle will start accepting applications from players 16 years and older, and over the next month we will be updating the FAQ/Rules to amend these changes.

3. We will also be implementing a bi-monthly game wide HMD along with the next activity check. The HMD is to offer everyone the chance to offer positive and constructive criticism to one another, us moderators included. AC’s checks begin on the 25th of each month, so look for our first HMD then.

4. Speaking of AC check, our first one has been completed and the following characters/journals have failed to meet AC requirements and will be removed from the game in the next few days:
If you feel you have been placed on this list for the wrong reasons, please contact the Mod Team as soon as possible so we can address this issue immediately.

5. Remember how we mentioned getting organized? A quick reference guide has been made to keep track of characters, age, year, house, and status of their communicators. This guide also references players, their emails, and a link to their personal HMD to make lines of communication more easy. As you can see the guide is not complete yet, but it should be by the end of the week.

6.  Lastly events! December has been set up as a fun and easy month for our heroes. The Dark Lord will grow quiet as professors and students leave Hogwarts ( starting around Friday December 9th ). Students and professors will all be back by January 2nd and the normal class schedule will resume on January 3rd.
  • Head of houses and core class professors will be remaining on the grounds through the holidays to offer extra classes for those newcomers who wish to continue their education (think of it as summer school). This modified schedule is optional but encouraged so that new arrivals will be able to pass their NEWTS and OWLS later in the year.
  • Flying lessons will occur every Saturday and Sunday and starting December 10th, they will also cover quidditch! After which, the quidditch pitch and Madam Hooch will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 12pm to 2pm and then 3pm to 5pm to cover any extra practice and lessons characters might desire in order to prepare them for quidditch tryouts on January 3rd - January 5th.
  • A supervised Hogsmeade outing will be planned December 17th and December 31st (the first of which will be officially logged). Students will depart from Hogwarts at 11:00am and the last carriages to leave Hogsmeade are scheduled to depart at 5:30pm, so make sure to get all your shopping done. As a reminder, the house elves have been placing a velvet draw-string purses containing money inside each newcomer’s chest on the 21st of each month. The amount equals to £30/$60 if you are a student and £300/$600 if you are a professor, they will gain this amount each month until a Gringotts account is established for them.
  • There will be a Christmas Feast on Christmas Eve for all those remaining on the castle grounds to attend and come morning each newcomer to Hogwarts will find one wrapped present beneath the Christmas tree in their common room. Inside this gift will be one item from home. Perhaps their favorite piece of clothing or an item which holds special meaning. Items with advance technologies will not function due to Hogwarts magical barriers and aura, however, does that not mean over time they can not be modified to work through magical abilities. Please comment in the section designated in the comments if your character plans on receiving such a device so the Mods can approve and keep track of what your characters receive.

That’s it on our end. Please feel free to leave any questions, comments, concerns in the designated thread below or you can bug us over at the mod contact page if we’ve forgotten anything. Here’s to another awesome month!
