The Making of Me: John Barrowman

so... watching a show on BBC America with John Barrowman... and he's studying what makes gay men gay... and one thought is that each older brother you have you have a 30% chance more to being gay... so for me it's Aaron, Justin, Seth... and my mother miscarried another boy... so I was Garenteed to being gay... lol

it's a very very very interesting

a censous they did, the group with 1 older brother had less than 25% being gay, the group with 2 older brothers had 45% being gay, and the group with 3 or more older brothers had more that 75% being gay.

John holds along the idea that people are born gay and not that they "become" gay. I tend to agree with him. The counter argument being that something in their environment while growing up is what turns them gay.

like i said, it was a very interesting show and had some good studies in it.

fyi, John is gay, so he's doing this to get proof that people are born gay, which in his view, would shut up all those saying it's wrong because there was nothing involved in making anyone gay, it's just some natural function of life.

I tend to actualy agree with the theory of the older brothers, it makes sence with my idea that Homosexuality it's natures way of population control. With the first male being straight, and the proceeding males born being gay, there's less competition for the straight male child and less men reproducing.

This also ties into my idea that even if all the men died on earth, women would find a way to continue to procreate without male influence... either by science or some genetic evolution.

... He calls it preference but states it as environmental. That something in the child's life, somewhere along the line after having been born, is what makes them more attracted to the same sex as opposed to the opposite sex ( ... )

you gain that preference by making choices that open you to them. preference is a result of choice. When you gain a prefernce it's because of a choice that then opened you up to forming an affinaty twords something. I didn't choose to start looking at other men and find them attractive, it was something that just simply happened. I did however try to find women attractive, and yet even while trying to gawk at women, i found myself watching the men around them instead ( ... )
