Had a really weird dream last night.

Oddly, I rarely have fandom dreams. I've had probably fewer than 10 FFVIII dreams, despite writing for it for roughly six years. I've had only a handful of SG-1 dreams, no (or one) S:AaB dreams, and I think two House dreams. One of those was when I was on NyQuil; for some reason, NyQuil makes my dreams more fandom-oriented. No idea why.

So, when I got the mega combo-plate-of-weirdness dream, the fact that the House cast was around only made it weirder. Lemme see if I can untangle it enough to report.

The setting: My grandmother's condo. For some reason her condo was also the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching hospital. No, I don't know how to explain it better; it was physically almost identical to my grandmother's actual condo, but it had PPTH's identity.

The cast: Variable. I was always around, sometimes accompnied by my mom, my grandmother, transnomad and squeemu, sometimes accompanied by Chase, Cameron, and House. (I don't know where Foreman got off to.)

The scene: Variable. It shifted between the story of the Spontaneously Cloning Cats and the story of the Great Iowa Flood. (My Lincoln-based grandmother's condo/New Jersey-based PPTH are apparently in Iowa City, by the way. So says my dream brain.)

Basically, one story was like this: there was a giant flood, and I had seen it because I had gotten sent back in time a la SG-1's Window of Opportunity lark. So I was trying to convince everyone that we had to do certain things at certain times, but all the clocks had stopped working and it wasn't safe to plug things in because the outlets were waterlogged and the only timetelling devices we had were our cell phones and we were afraid that they'd run out of batteries if we left them on too long. And we couldn't leave the condo, because the lapping waves of chocolate-milk-colored water were already up to our windows and still rising.

The other story had to do with flawed clones of my cat spontaneously appearing, about one every few minutes. The clones were fatter and not as long and rounder and had big white soulless eyes, and they looked harmless enough except for the STARING, and we had a feeling that they would consume us somehow if left to their own devices. So we had to beat them into Grandma's pantry and keep them in there while we tried to figure out how to stop them from spontaneously generating and fgure out how to get rid of them. And then the pantry started getting wild, and they started beating at the door so we had to barricade it as they tried to get it open....

And the dreams just kinda crossed over and intersected with each other so occasionally I'd be arguing with Chase about how to weather the flood and occasionally I'd be helping Squeem fend off soulless cat-clones with a yardstick and occasionally I'd be helping Cameron position a metal pole to jam the pantry door shut and occasionally I'd be discussing cell phone bttery life with Nomad... it was all very strange.

show: stargate sg1, show: house, topic: dreams, *omgwtf
