Topic Thirty-Seven: Would you rather lead or follow? Why?
Would you rather lead or follow? Why? What role do you see yourself playing out over your life, leader or follower?
I have been a follower. I have followed one man across deserts, across nations, into damnation itself.
And, though it, I have become a leader. I have been a brutal tyrant. I have wielded a whip bloodied with the screams of those I impaled. Their screams reached heaven and damned me further. There is no peace, says the Lord. No peace for the wicked.
And I would have nothing to do with peace. I made holy war so terrible that the ground shook from my blows. I spread the salt of the earth upon the waters and made them tremble. I earned loyalty from those like me and I built up an army of those truly mine, eager for combat.
We were stopped only by Him. My children died around me, but I survived. Unlike them, I cannot die. The ultimate leader will be martyr for his followers, but I can never be an ultimate leader.
At the truth of it all, I am still a follower.
