I've made many wishes in my life. I've held my breath, looked at the first star that left at morning, and wished for my heart's deepest desire. But I never told them to anyone. They were my secret wishes and no one could know about them.
But somehow, He always knew. I never had to tell him, and I never would have. He just knew. And he made all my wishes come true. Save two.
I've never regretted a wish. I've only regretted the wishes that were never realized. I wished that he would take back the things he said, those hurtful things, to spurn me into my final obedience. And I wished that he would take me with him. He swore he would. But maybe that time has not yet come. Maybe it will come true.
