So, here I sit at a Strategicon. Gamex 2009, to be precise. All hail the Gateway Sheraton's excellent free Wi-Fi.
The convention is at a different hotel this con, as a result of work on the parking structure over at the LAX Radisson. The Sheraton is really nice, and this con is freaking deceased.
Well, scratch that. It's severely ill. They shifted the RPG's first time slot to 9AM to accomodate RPGA's desire to not have games at 8PM, so my first game today was at 9. Was not easy getting here, but the game filled and then some. Great group of guys, had a lot of fun. No one's buying the game this weekend. Suck.
My 2:00 game has no people signed up, so I'm sitting here at the RPG Desk for a little while. The convention can accommodate 10 RPGs at a time in the present facilities... and out of those ten, five to seven run.
Boardgaming is fairly well attended, natch. Even the RPGA seems a little down on their numbers, but that could also just be me.
At least there's Wi-Fi, right? I'm anticipating more sales at Califur... I'm becoming dejected with conventions that do not pay for themselves (with parking at $11.00 a day, even getting the badge free for demoing my games and sleeping at home is making this thing run at a loss).
Much better female to male ratio, though. Oh, well.
