Always cite your sources:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/957894?page=1 I don't know where the following quotes come from originally but they are all on the above website, listed as belonging to
Albert Camus.
With that said, and noting that without a source they might lack context, here are some of my favorites.
"An intellectual? Yes. And never deny it. An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself. I like this, because I am happy to be both halves, the watcher and the watched. "Can they be brought together?" This is a practical question. We must get down to it. "I despise intelligence" really means: "I cannot bear my doubts."
"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer."
(I would alter this for myself to: "In the depth of summer, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible winter." with a similar meaning, I think.)
"I do not believe in God and I am not an atheist."
"If absolute truth belongs to anyone in this world, it certainly does not belong to the man or party that claims to possess it."
