Earth Day

If you haven't yet seen the documentary called The Human Footprint, I highly recommend it. Here's the National Geographic website that includes information about it as well as supplementary info. It really gives you insight to just how much STUFF each and every one of us uses, on average, from the day we're born to the day we die, in our lifetime in this country:

Tens of thousands of eggs and showers, hundreds of tons of CO2 emissions, not to mention all the resources that go into making all the things we use. Cars are made from parts that are manufactured worldwide in Europe, the United States, and Asia, and they all use other resources on their way to being assembled before we even start driving them.

Over 90% of the trash from my house is recyclable materials. Most of the light bulbs in the house are energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs.

What are YOU doing to reduce your footprint?
