I finished it and it was fabulous! I'm actually really glad that I stopped reading where I did, because it worked very well to have it in two parts like that. It was painful reading Harry's realisation of how he felt about Malfoy, and then to see how he buried it and got on with life. My heart was in my mouth when Ginny asked if he was happy. It was so frustrating to see him deny his real feelings, but I can see that he thought he was doing the right thing.

The platform scene from canon was brilliant! I love that there was so much bubbling under the surface beneath that simple nod that we see in the epilogue. I'm totally adopting your backstory as my head canon when I read DH again. I t makes so much sense for them to have unresolved feelings after all those years! Then the walk in the park and THE KISS! OMG, it was a real swooner. Lovely. And I love that it's Draco who pulls away, even though he can hardly bear to do it. UGH! I had such feels for this fic.

I love the way you gave Astoria a lot of dignity and that Draco did the right thing and confessed to her. Their relationship was very believable (and sad). I really felt for both of them. Draco's regrets were perfectly expressed. And then I TOTALLY have this thing for H/D getting it on in Draco's study at a party. It's like a kink of mine. This was sdfhjksdfhjkasdfghjkdfghjkll. The UST was wonderful, I was fanning myself, but when Draco said "Just you" I nearly DIIIIIIEDDDDD. That was SO romantic and sad and SO HOT and aaaaaahhhhhhh. And that scene finished perfectly, when Draco said that he couldn't tell Harry what to do.

Poor Harry, it feels like there's still a lot of struggle ahead of him, but your hopeful ending helps me feel that it will all be worth it. This was great, MA, I'm so glad my prompt sparked this for you and thank you for the delightful way that you interpreted it. ♥

I also wanted to say WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT in your A/N, being nervous and insecure and all of that. 1) I am REALLY NOT a scary person. 2) This is BLOODY GREAT \o/

Hehe, I promise I don’t think you’re scary, even more so now that I’ve gotten to know you a bit better since I first wrote this. I can only recall that feeling of dread and nerves when I looked closer at the prompt mid-writing and saw the user who posted it and then realized, “oh, oh. This is the same person who has written some of my favourite H/D fics. Gulp.” But yes that only made a million times more amazing when it turned out you really enjoyed this!

And I love the way you've sprinkled in details about the Malfoys from Pottermore! That's the first story I've read which incorporated the new information and it fitted in seamlessly.

I’m so glad you enjoyed that part! When I saw that a Draco Malfoy backstory was going to be posted to Pottermore I think I may have literally thrown myself on the floor and devoured every detail when it went up.

My favourite favourite part was when Harry instantly wanted to know what it was like to bottom.

Hehe, I think my first thought when writing that scene was, “well, I know I need to make it clear Draco is gonna be the top”, because at the time I wasn’t even sure if I would have a full on sex scene with the two. Clearly the changed… haha!

Thank you! I have such a soft spot for EC fics and that scene has such potential to it, even when I read it in the books for the first time I felt there must have been something hidden beneath~
