it's been a while, LJ-Land.

I was fired from Shockoe Espresso. It was sudden, and unexpected. The manager didn't like how I closed the store one night, so he fired me the next morning. He'd just hired a few new people, and I was working 2-3 shifts a week since school started- I miss the income, and am looking for a new gig, but it's busy times nowadays.

Dates draw nearer with the Just Poets book. The photos of poets on the main page are mine, as will be the Poets section and Gallery- or at least the majority thereof. It seems that the focus of my work for the Just Poets has shifted from the book to the website, but I'm just happy to have the gig. A resume with a URL and "All photo credits Ian M. Graham" is nice. Speaking of which, I've got to get them to put that up there...

I really need a website, and soon. I have no idea who to have host it, but I'd like to do the design myself, which means I need to buy more textbooks. Anyone want to host for me?

I haven't done any work for WRIR since a week or two after the black thought interview- quite possibly because Rasul, who hired me, quit. I need to get in contact with them, soon, to make sure they're still going to send me on interviews.

I'm supposedly starting work for RVA Magazine soon, but I don't have the contact information yet. Again, I need to get in contact with Rasul soon... It's a mag being put out by one of the guys who started Punchline and Chew On This, both popular (Punchline, legendarily awesome, CoT, currently sold out) RVA magazines. I'd love to be involved.

Classes are going well. I dropped my Fundamentals of Design class, as I (A) wasn't learning anything and (B) the teacher is a hack. I want my $180 back.

I've spent most of tonight reading Chomsky. Incredibly intelligent analysis of U.S. foreign policy. He pulls no punches for Clinton, and is truely objective in his analysis.

In other news, I am covered in cats. Purring, annoying, cute cats. Piro is an insanly annoying fatass, and probably the greatest friend I've ever had.

I've decided that I need to become more of a homebody, instead of going out every damned night. Do homework, spend time with the cats, and not spend money. Hopefully that means that I'll have more time to update ye olde blog, but no promises.

Other projects- I'm going to generate a design package for the Ethos Cafe. They have no website, so I'm going to crash-course myself in web design by getting a page running for them on yahoo or something. Maybe I should have my site running first, but those chicks need a website with a calendar on it, for christ's sake!

I've been hanging out with Aaron, my old lead singer, a lot recently. it's nice- he's started drinking, and he's doing too much of it, but he's kind of acting his age a bit. He was, and remains, the most mature person for his age that I've ever met- that man had more intellect and grasp than 30 year olds I've met, when I met him at 17- but he's 21 now, and he's acting it. Getting hammered, throwing parties, thirsty thursday, planning drunken sprawls two weeks in advance while throwing 3 parties of similar size before the one that's planned even happens. It's awesome.

I think that's it for now. Hopefully I'll be able to commit to truely staying in 3-4 nights a week, and will update more often.

encourage me to suck, people!
