Trip to Japan: Gathering interest & collecting emails!
Okay so as you all know. I'm a giant geek for Japan. Welp, I'm finally planning a trip there (along with several friends). We're actually just gathering interest right now, figuring out how much things will cost and who would even be interested in going.
As it stands, right now our plans are to take two weeks in Japan, one week in Osaka, one week in Tokyo (give or take) at the end of the year. By estimation, that means we'll be out of the country approximately from December 23rd to January 4th.
We're DEFINITELY planning on going to Comiket, and we're definitely planning on staying at a traditional inn for a night somewhere. From talking to various people, a good benchmark for 'how much this will cost' is between $3500-4000, for airfare, lodging, food, and spending money for the whole trip.
Right now planning is happening largely between araine, japants_risa, and myself!
We'll need a final headcount by early summer, as we'll need to book our hotel rooms ASAP since we are traveling around New Year's.
If you'd be interested in getting more information, please feel free to comment here with your email so that we can send updates on cost/dates/whatnot as plans get further. As it stands right now, the email list will just be people who are interested, so don't feel obligated to say that you're definitely coming! Right now it's a lot of "maybe's" and "if's" because of financial situations on everyone's part.
