Work is certainly the best time to write.

So the new semester has finally kicked off, and its looking like a better one from the start. Of course, first impressions always seem to change around here, but for now I'm thinking it's gonna be a better semester.

To start with, christmas break was great. I suffered a serious brain overload and spent the entire break relaxing to the fullest. I didn't even go into NYC with my friends this time. Nope, it was mostly sitting on the couch or playing videogames, with the occasional football game or afternoon drive.

This semester's classes seem to be pretty decent, and for now I think I'll only have 1 that I will truly loathe. Most of my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, leaving Friday and Wednesday completely open and most of Monday too. The drawback is that I have to get up at 7am every day, and Tuesdays and Thursdays are awful. Thursday especially, because I have classes from 8:00-3:20 with no break. From there it's practice, and from there it's work. But the thought of permanent 3-day weekends is compensation enough.

Other changes include the loss of several of our friends, including Jeremy, Lisa, Luciana and Emily. In their place is Ross, back from China, but since I've seen him only once so far it's not that noticeable. Zach, on the other hand, is very noticeable and is also back. For what reason, I still don't really know, but he's back and I'm very happy because of it. No longer will I have to go to football games alone, and once again I'll have a raquetball partner. It's sure to be a wilder semester with him around.

Julie has successfully been moved into Jeremy's room, which is another plus. It looks nothing like Jeremy's room anymore, and she's adjusted quite well. Her bed is also now a futon, which I personally love. It's an incredibly confortable couch by day, decently large bed by night. All we need is a widescreen TV on the closet door, and it's the perfect entertainment center. Surrounded by artsy, girly things of sorts.

My room hasn't changed much, except for a nice little cleaning and un-cluttering. I fixed up a hook for hanging my Wii controllers, which is handy. Unfortunately, my wireless adapter doesn't work in the room, and as I feared I'll have to get one of those LAN adapters too. Can't hurt to have both, I guess. The christmas lights are down, mainly because Fixit ripped them down over break, but down nonetheless. I also seem to have misplaced my snowboard, as it has disappeared from the storage room. I'm getting on Munjal to get that sorted out; for some reason they took it out. Hopefully I get it back within a day, since the ski trips start on Saturday night. (WOOHOO! I finally get to snowboard!)

The winter seems to have arrived with the rest of the returning students. Snow is forecasted all next week, and it snowed for a good day and a half this past week. It dropped down to 2 degrees one frosty morning. Fortunately, though, the freezing rain has passed.

Once again, I managed to purchase my books for around $180. This is made better by the fact that all 4 books cost upwards of $120 each at the bookstore. Hopefully this time they'll arrive in a timely fashion...one's coming from India, so I'm a little concerned. I managed to sell my Linear Algebra book online, though, for $46. I gotta ship it to California tomorrow...I want to maintain a decent seller's reputation ;).

I've only been to 2 practices so far, but it looks like I haven't gained any weight over the break and I'm still is pretty decent shape, thankfully. I have to make sure to take it easy on the arm, though, because I injured it around this time last year because I tried to push it after it had taken a long break from throwing. Whether I'll throw shotput in any more meets is unknown at this point. (Hopefully.)

I'd imagine I have quite a lot to look forward to in the next few months. The first and obvious one is my 21st birthday, which occurs on a Saturday and coincidentally right before the Super Bowl. What this means, I'm not sure yet...I'm snowboarding on Saturday night, and hopefully if I get back in time we're all going to go bowling. That way, I can buy alcohol AND have an enjoyable night with my drinking and non-drinking friends. Combine that with a possibly drunk Super Bowl, and I'd say I have a pretty decent birthday weekend planned. If it works, of course.

In the coming months, I have the new Linkin Park CD, the release of Wii Play and SSX Blur, several ski trips, a possible "Thirsty Thursday" every now and then, snow football games, and track meets. Plus whatever happens for Spring Break. It's gonna be a good year. Of course, once I get Wii Play, I might have to relocate my Wii to the lounge...my first night back I had 9 people in there for several hours, and it was crazy.

Well, I think I'm gonna stop now and watch some Smallville episodes online. I found this site that allows me to keep up with the 6th season, which is perfect since I'm stuck here on Thursday nights.

See ya.
