I haven't had the time or internet connection over the last month or so, but I find lj to be a reserve, like a comfy old-fashioned drawing room. it'll probably be invaded by hipsters shortly :P

My biggest problem with social media is that it tricks you into believing you're still in touch with people purely because you've added them to an arbitrary list.

Indeed! As per Frosty's post, I think I intend to start using LJ a bit more again, since it engenders something more akin to a conversation. Also I don't have to assume my parents and boss will be reading it.
