Before playing Twilight Princess, I had only ever played one other Zelda game; the Ocarina of Time. It’s easily one of the best games I’ve ever played, and I wouldn’t call myself a huge gamer.
Because of this, when TP was released in 2006, I knew immediately that I wanted to play it, however I couldn’t because I didn’t have the right console for it. I received my Nintendo Wii this gone Christmas and with glee realised that I was finally able to buy this game, one that I’d been waiting 4 or 5 years to play.
I completed the game in just over 29 hours, not all in one go mind you, but I finished it five days after getting it simply because I couldn’t keep away. It’s a great story and scenario, and stays true to the classic Zelda style, although I do think it’s a story that anyone can follow; even if this is your first try at the Zelda series.
Link lives in a cosy little village where nothing exciting ever happens, working at the ranch with his uncle.
Suddenly, monsters begin to purge the daylight and create ‘Twilight’ shrouds all throughout the land of Hyrule, causing Link to undergo an uncontrollable transformation into a wolf whenever the twilight is near. Under the guidance of a dark, mysterious imp named Midna, Link must live up to his title of ‘hero chosen by the gods’ in order to save both his world and the Twilight Realm before light and shadow merge to create unspeakable consequences for everybody.
Playing the game is a very theatrical/movie-like experience to the point where you’re pretty well swept away by it. That expression’s so overused, but honestly it’s the only one that fits - it never loses pace.
Overall, if you have a Nintendo Wii or a Nintendo GameCube, then Twilight Princess is a definite for your game collection. It will stay with you for a very long time. c:
I rate this product:
10/10
Also, please tell me I’m not weird and a complete nerd that at the point where Link took off his shirt, I swooned just a lil’. ¦D
