I was putzing around earlier and came across a great picture that was just begging to be made into one of those motivational posters. Check it out - ( Cut to save your f-list. )

That's kinda freaky.

I can't stop looking at it.

It is a weird picture. I'm really curious about what was going on when it was taken.

Maybe some big WW1 nerve-gas scare or something??

That could be. It seems like a strange time to gather everyone up and take a picture but there are stranger things. It actually sort of looks like they're either doing some kind of preparation for a nerve-gas attack with the kids but also sort of like they're either walking into a situation. You have the truck and the little cannon that I don't think is real. It's a cool picture though.

You could take it to school and get your older students to analyse it. Maybe. If the curriculum allows. Just a thought. :)

Ooh, that's a good idea. That would make a fun piece for a writing assignment too. Have the students write a short story about what's going on in the picture.

I like that! :D

Hurrah, I did good!

I got the idea from a substitute drama teacher we had for a week in year 10. She went through our costume cupboard and brought out a handful of costumes and made us discuss what sort of person might have worn them and the life they might have lived, and how we came to that conclusion, as a basis for how to "become" characters.

It was really interesting - there was some great discussion happening.

You did! Thank you for that idea. :)

That had to be a really fun class. It would really get you thinking and help you step into character more.

It was a lot of fun. A lot of work, too, but cleverly disguised, because we had something different to focus our energies on.
