Random stuff
Indulging in one of my (many) obsessions, I bumped into badfic_quotes and spent an unhealthy amount of time laughing hysterically at excerpts from (bad) Torchwood fiction. There's everything, culminating in Jack Cannibal Harkness. Go check. It's tagged for the various fandoms.
I think I'll now move onto the box that arrived earlier today - full of Torchwood books & CDs. I'm kind of enjoying being paid in euros and having a Berlin address (Amazon.co.uk shippings take two days ... it would be weeks to Prague).
I'm being mightily distracted from my work. But the next task, the lecture, is slowly acquiring shape. I'm alone in my office now so I actually did work all day long today ... well until I discovered the above community while searching for examples of logographic writing online and decided to head home as
1. my outbursts of hysterical laughter must have been disturbing the colleague next door
2. I was not getting anything done anyway.
I have two student interviews tomorrow afternoon, and I hope to be able to formulate my conclusions, so that I can have time to run over the whole thing on Friday and smooth it up.
I would also appreciate any advice on where I can get good whisky in Berlin. I just finished my lovely Islay single malt :o(
