The monks at Meteora are hypocrites. The way they treat their cats (or the stray cats that live in area, which according to Christian morale should basically be THEIR cats) is outrageous. I've seen six cats in the area of Meteora, the three that lived by a shop outside the enclosures were healthy and well-fed, those who lived inside were all sick and skinny (but so lovely, one of them jumped onto the lap of one of my friends and enjoyed to be caressed).
I also had to laugh at their dress code for visitors. They demand women wear skirts. They even lend out skirts for those who don't have one with them. Trousers are forbidden, but miniskirts are all right ...
