For yes, I do
Book-wise, I've finished Sean McMullen's The Glass Dragons
, which is apparently the second part of a series the first part of which was never translated into Czech... I got the book as a stand alone, which was all right, since I did not miss anything from the first part.
I don't think the book is brilliant, but it kept me reading on, and I liked the ideas about the origin of dragons, the huge wizard weapon working with energy, the ironies of the master musician with no musical talent and above all - but I won't spoil it for you - Willy. I also really enjoyed the idea of the truthfulness spell. Oh, and, of course, the Charon in red dress!
I really won't say more because it's these little things that make the book absolutely worth reading.
Then I moved on to The righteous men by Sam Bourne
While I liked the Biblical riddles that helped the main character solve the mystery, as well as the whole plot around a Jewish legend, the whole was very unlikely and, come on, you know I hate the 'beautiful wife' stereotype, and when combined with pregnancy issues, it makes me want to throw the book away. Some important things were also never explained.
Now I'm reading The Light Ages by Ian McLeod
This another book of my favourite New Weird series and so far it looks GOOD. Very much so. I guess I'm spoiled by this series and expect too much from fantasy by now.
No, I'm not reading only fanfic, though I've read quite a lot recently. I never thought I'd like gay porn, but
First Prime was ... special.
NCIS-wise, I've finally managed to watch again and I liked the episode quite a lot this time - and not just because marines got mummified alive in this ep.
That's book 5, 6 and 7 from the challenge, and the 3rd ep of NCIS.
