Ufff. So, yesterday, the Big Prof finally decided that yes, I could write a grant application for the next threee years. I am VERY happy, because if I get the grant, I'll be financially independent, able to buy a new computer, worth more in the academia, and above all write a really, really good and useful thing :o) I would have to write a book on the theme anyway, so it's more money for the same amount of effort.
So now it's grant application writing time. It's all in my head, but I just have to formulate it well. I am also planning to "use" one of our students for writing the hieroglyphs in a computer editor, it's a job I would LOVE to have in my second year of studies and it would seriously speed up my own work. There were times when I would do everything myself, but the more things I am involved in at a time, the more of the technical stuff i prefer to 'delegate' away. It will be a good school for the students, too, because it should significantly increase their knowledge of hieroglyphs, so what would be a waste of time for me may be valuable work for them.
I only want two of the bunch, though. I hope at least one of them accepts. They'll get paid for doing Egyptology after all :o))
