I'm at the airport waiting to go home. The trip went well and I even had time to visit the local Kadampa center in Baltimore. The resident teacher there is a nun and her assistant is a monk who is originally from Houston. I got there about a half hour early for the drop-in class and she asked me if I'd had dinner yet. I hadn't because I wasn't hungry at the time I'd left the suburbs to get there. So she had the monk find something to eat in their kitchen before the class started which was really nice of them.

I almost backed out of going, but I'm very glad I made the extra drive to downtown Baltimore. Around 5pm a severe thunderstorm hit the area and I was considering just heading to the hotel. Then Brian from Rone called me out of the blue and I pulled over to the shoulder and talked to him for almost an hour. It was raining so hard I could barely see the road anyway. He mostly wanted to ask me about Ray's sleep apnea and throat surgery. By the time we finished talking, the rain had almost completely stopped and I decided to go ahead and visit the center.

The other interesting thing on this trip was the small lobster I saw in one of the hotel lobbies. I almost stepped on it walking into the hotel. At first I thought it was a crab but I got a closer look and saw it's lobster tail curled under it's body. The lady at the front desk thought it was a scorpion. Obviously she's never seen one before. I assured her it definitely was not a scorpion and I was from Texas so I am very familiar with scorpions and what they look like. The maintenance guy used a broom and dustpan to take the lobster back outside. I just wish I'd thought to take a picture of it.
