The Wizengamot’s verdict stunned Draco. He sat, mind empty, as everyone left except Potter, who approached determinedly.
“Why?” Draco blurted.
“Why what?”
Draco sighed. “Why’d you testify for me?”
Potter shrugged. “I wanted to.”
“You hate me, it makes no sense.”
Potter smiled. “Sure it does. And I never hated you, Draco. You’re fun to argue with.”
“This may be your last opportunity,” Draco murmured. “We’ve no reason to see each other again.”
“Don’t count on that.” Potter moved closer. “After all, now you really owe me.”
“Potter! How Slytherin.”
Potter smirked. “You don’t know the half of it.”
