Wow...this last week was so freaking long!!!
So I've had a lot of people calling and asking 'How'd the wedding go'? and this below is my answer.
Wednesday: Mike and I left Wed. and got to Troy about 11ish. Phe, Erin, Mrs. Reba and I all got our nails done. Amanda and Stephen met up with us and then left so that Stephen could get his tush to his slave masters. Phe and I got our hair cut soon afterwards and all us girls went to locate Matt and Mike. Mike was, surprisingly enough helping to run the school's newscast. Why? Not quite sure...but since it was a George Jetson style job, he didn't seem to have much of a problem. It was at that point that I met Jeff, the BM or, best man. I rubbed his head and that seemed to satisfy him.
We all then went to a chinese place where I watched Amanda eat, get this, YELLOW watermelon. Wtf, yellow watermelon??? Twas weird.
After that, us, sans Jeff, went to Phe and Matt's new house and rolled up some Katamari. Speaking of whice, PHE! You and Matt have my game and Mike's Memory card in your 360. I'd like it back, if possible, sometime within the month. Ktksbai.
We left there so that Amanda could pick up her boy and Erin, Phe and I stayed up late chattering about all the things to come.
Thursday: We all woke up and prepared ourselves for the yummy tea that was to come at three. Mike showed up at Phe's around 11ish and we watched some of Kate and Leopold until Phe's family began to trickle into the apartment. I got to meet Phe's cousin Ashley, reacquaint myself with my old freshman David and get the all around re-introduction to the rest of her family. We were a little worried about the lack of Rei-chan until she called sounding plain awful. Poor thing was sick and therefore running late. After Phe chatted with her and forgave her for being late (and really, you can't help it if you're sick!) we all mosied over to the Bridesmaid's Tea.
Ya'll, this tea was fantastic. We had glasses of iced tea and this huge tower of FOODAGE! It was like, three tiers of numminess. After the tea though, the real fun began. Mike met up with Amanda and Elizabeth and myself and we went to the world of the Wal in search of drinks and such for the bachorlette party. Also, since there was so much food from the tea, we stole it and used it as party food.
Then, Rei arrived and she, Amanda and I went to a secret location to get secret things for the party. (wink).
Phe was very red by the time the party was over, which is all I'll be saying about it, but I'm pretty sure she had a good time despite my hope that all of her blood would visit her face at least a few times during the night.
The party got moved over to Phe's house when we realized that Stephen's roommates were determined to do illegal things despite the fact that the collective bridesmaids' boyfriends had been lodged in their house. Rei and I rescued the boys and then we all proceeded to play what I like to call, "Fandom Triva", made by the very talented Elizabeth.
We called it a night about 12ish, toasted to the future happiness of Phe and Matt and then promptly passed out.
Friday: We woke up yawny and groggy to Phe leaving to go eat breakfast with her dad. Eventually we all carpooled out to the hotel and got ready for the rehearsal. The actual rehearsal was fine. It was the waiting part that was dull. I thought I'd liven up said dullness at one point by attempting to jump on the stage and preform the lines of the bishop from "The Princess Bride"...unfortunately, I ended up falling ass up in front of everyone.
Wasn't enough to stop me though! I managed to get the lines out without stammering and gained applause...ok...so the applause was in my head and there was more laughter than that, but meh. It isn't a party unless someone falls down, right?
The rehearsal dinner was excellent and ended with a happy toast to the bride and groom after a really funny speech by the best man, (who was, by the by, wearing a KILT!!!) We; Mike, Rei, Charlie, and I went to walmart again to get last minute supplies and then headed back, prepared to pass out and sleep.
Saturday: Wedding day. We all had a nice time jostling for showers, getting hair done, getting ties tied, locating shoes, realizing that the shoes were off in space somewhere and then getting back up shoes and then getting out and checking out and getting to the church.
I got into the Bra of Doom and then into the Dress of Bridesmaid. Rei realized that if we had transformation pins, we could be Sailor Bridal Party...which really wasn't a bad idea. After we were dressed, we went and found the Phe who looked gorgeous and perfect in her sparkling white gown. We had to wait for a while, stand still and smile for the camera and then guard our food from the ravenous wedding guests.
Finally though, it was show time. We all lined up and marched down the aisle, gaining admiring glances and smiles from all who attended. Ya'll should have seen the love-struck, hit-in-the-face look that Matt had when Aimee walked down that aisle on her Daddy's arm. Tears flowed and happiness abounded. It was almost enough to forget how much my feet pinched.
The said their vows after lighting the unity candle and then kissed with love. Phe managed not to trip until the last step, and at that point, I don't think ANYONE noticed! So yes. It was a happy and very pretty ceremony.
Sure, there were small disasters. Like...it monsooning right after the wedding and washing away most of the car decorations. And when Matt and Aimee left, they forgot to leave the house key so that those who were staying could get back IN to her apartment, but over all, things went smoothly. I was very happy to have been apart of it and very happy to be witness to one of the best weddings I've ever been to.
