Tenhawk - Alexander Harris and the Shadow Council
Fandom: HP, The Addams Family, BtVS I'd be very surprised if you've not already discovered Tenhawk's writing, as he's well known for writing the Journeyverse series, but just in case... Tenhawk is an incredibly brilliant author who has the unfortunate habit of writing massively long stories and failing to finish them. :-) Yet he's SO good that I can never resist reading his work anyway.
This is a fascinating and utterly brilliant story in which Xander is discovered at age 10 or 11 to be magic and sent to Hogwarts, entering in the same year as Harry Potter but placed into Slytherin. He becomes friends with Harry, Hermione and Wednesday Addams, who is also a first year. Although it obviously shares certain characters with BtVS and The Addams Family, most notably Xander, Wednesday and Willow, it can't really be said to be a normal crossover in that it is entirely set within the Potterverse; just with Xander and Wednesday as the central characters. There is little to no leakage from the Buffyverse (no appearance of Buffy at all) but there is a little spillover from the Addams' due to Xander spending holiday breaks with them.
Unfortunately, as anyone familiar with Tenhawk will know, he has a habit of failing to finish fics and this one also appears to have been abandoned (as at Oct '14). However, at a current length of over 100 chapters (~1000 pages) it is already one of his longer works and is outstanding. Well and truly worth reading if you can handle going into it knowing that it may turn out to be another of his unfinished masterpieces. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
