No, it's a quote by the Joker, as featured in Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. It was a comic released in 1989 which saw Batman blackmailed by his arch-nemesis into locking himself into the eponymous madhouse for a time. This turned into a somewhat Jungian deconstruction of the character at the hands of a not-so exceptionally homoerotic Joker, constantly goading and teasing him.

Have you read the book? It's a lot less obvious about whether Bateman is in fact a mass murderer or if he's imagining the whole thing.

I found the book heavy going! I was kind of predisposed to not like it because my sister bought it for me for christmas saying 'I bought you the most sick and twisted book I could find' to which I thought fuck you.

The next year my family went the opposite way and all bought me Powerpuff Girls stuff to which I also thought fuck you. They have a hard time second-guessing me. I don't get why people don't just buy me stuff they'd like themselves. When they just try and work out what sort of thing I like, I actually feel insulted. My mum bought me the Little Britain script book one year for fuck 's sake. Thanks mum, obviously you think I'm a fucking retard.

No, cause I actually like the idea of people putting thought into the present, it's just when the thought sucks I have a problem. No thought at all is the worst. I mean my Dad just buys all my sisters a bottle of Bailey's every year, the fucking prick.
