In my latest self-educational venture, I've taken a page from my dear mother's book. Yesterday being my birthday, I managed to accquire an Asus Eee. (Hug, squeeze, call it Phobos.) Now I'm practicing her favourite tactic - not getting up because the vital elements (computer, internet) can now be brought to me.
Add in some minor waiter service (fried egg sandwich, smoothie) and a side of spluttered disbelief (from both of the older generation) and so far this seems to be panning out rather well. Apparently sometimes hypatia *does* get a good idea.
PS: Downside - being in bed means you can't run very fast from irked parents after they read you LJ entries. Must work on this.
