Real quick, here is what I'm going to use as the actual template for my screenplay, with the added subplot of his girlfriend/Magdeline character....
Green Mile vs. Jerry Maguire vs. K’Pax
When Jesse is stuck in his dead end job/dead end life, he puts up with it, and then he receives a vision that he is Jesus and begins his spiritual journey until he is faced with the reality of the world today. When he starts to spread the word of his enlightenment nobody believes him, then a young girl believes in him, until she is seriously injured. When he must perform a miracle to save her, he cannot because nobody believes in him, then somebody says they do, and everyone follows suit (I am Spartacus) and she is saved, until he is accused of endangering her, and locked up for thinking he is Jesus.
