Some people do "A Day In the Life Of" picture posts, but not enough happens to me in a day so I have to do "A Month and a Half In the Life Of" post. In this episode, the reuniting of the K-ville Fellowship, McLovin and Allison get it on!, a St. Pat's day feast (where's the green beer?), OMG the coat is blinding me!, Nick and Miss have the greatest wedding ever and, as always, PUPPIES!
At the beginning of March Shawna and Kristin came to visit and it's amazing I got any pictures at all considering Kristin and Sara are masters at the hand in front of the face pose, as seen here.
Sara tried to defend Kristin at this point, but I got her in the process (ha!).
They thought the darkness would protect them, but hunger made their powers weak so I actually managed to get a clear shot while we were waiting for the Chinese food guy to show.
Over at Sara's place there's a small pond with some geese and a couple of the geese took a liking to us, probably because we were throwing bits of meat bun at them. They liked us so much in fact that we gave them names and made them our official mascots (of what?). We named the male McLovin (the only good thing in that horrible Superbad movie) and the female Alison (from the movie Knocked Up, because she is). The geese have actually stuck around Sara’s and currently Alison has made a nest and is sitting on her eggs while McLovin likes to hang around outside Sara's door everyday honking until she feeds him (typical male =P).
McLovin struttin’ his stuff.
On St. Pat's Day I celebrated by making some Irish soda bread and chicken spinach rice soup (which isn't Irish but it is green). I have to say it turned out fairly well.
Welcome to where I spend 3/4ths of my time at work these days, the mouse room. We've got two more rooms just like this one overflowing with mice, there’s about 500 mice in that picture. I've got to stop playing the sappy soft rock station while I work in there because it's making the mice way too fertile. They wean at least 100 new mice every week. Oh god, the squeaking... Make it stop! Make it stop!
Of course I also sneak in time to play with the puppies. This is Mac (the black one), Walie (the darker brown one) and Filbert (the lighter brown one). There's nothing wrong with any of them so they're all getting adopted out as soon as they're old enough. I couldn't get them to hold still for a picture for anything.
For some reason Jenn put me in a beret and took my picture as punishment for making her watch The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. I look slightly French, oui?
I got bored while I was at home for a couple days and made banana nut muffins with streusel topping. You want some muffins? Hell yeah you do!
Before Nick and Miss's wedding this weekend I made the mistake of showing my mother what I was going to wear to the wedding. She insisted I borrow a coat she had to go with my outfit, but when I finally saw this 'coat' the only thing I could think was, "No one in their right mind would go out in public in this! Maybe I could use it to cosplay as a baked potato though..." (Criss Angel pose!)
Despite being a bit cold for an outdoor wedding (it was snowing this morning, what the hell Missouri?!) they had quite possibly the most awesome wedding I've ever been to. Anyone who enters their wedding reception to a six lightsaber salute with the Imperial March playing is okay by me. Here's the happy couple huddling together for warmth after taking their vows. Nick and Miss had their love to keep them warm, but those bridesmaids looked positively frozen, the poor dears.
My favorite picture I took. You guys had some super sweet dance moves going on there, time to consider auditioning for You Think You Can Dance. =)
I took illegal pictures in the bathroom. I'm a fugitive from justice now. (snicker)
Over at the "Mostly Former Truman People" table we hit the wine and the Trader Joe's Apple Cider pretty hard. That was some dang good apple cider though! Who needs alcohol when you're on a sugar high eh?
I captured a moment in history what I caught Ellen eating eggs! We had some excellent Thai food for dinner. I loved the coconut milk curry the best. ^_^
The cake was really too pretty to eat, but we ate it anyway.
We left too early to get a piece of the X-box cake, but it probably wouldn’t have tasted as good as a Wii cake anyhow. Shouldn't that button on the bottom be red though? (jk =P)
After the cake there was much playing of Rock Band, Smash Brothers and DDR. I would have gotten pictures of that too, but I was too busy DDRing with the seven year old flower girl and making fun of the boys because they don't use their wii remotes to play Smash Brothers Brawl. I’m really starting to like weddings since it’s one of the few times I get to actually see people and especially if there's going to be gaming involved. Anybody else up for getting married? As along as it’s not to me I’m so there!
Congrats again to Nick and Miss and thanks so much for inviting me to the wedding! I had a blast! Until then, later all. ^_^
