She didn’t have to explain. “It’s okay.” He reached out for her and pulled her close. “You’re safe, Phi.” Just as she had promised, she had come to him. She was there, in his arms, and he could comfort her.
Again, he was reminded of that night at the Specter estate. That same question returned.
“Where’s Johnny?”
“I don’t know.”
