Solar stood at the edge of the fissure looking down at the molten magma that flowed slowly beneath. “Have faith my girl.” He whispered, “Your destiny awaits you.”
Heat flared up and swirled around her, calling her closer. “Are you sure?” She looked around her, Cot mages lay strewn about the temple their robes still smoking from her attack. “It didn’t do them much good.”
“They are fools, humans, unworthy of this gift. You are my daughter, the daughter of a god! They are nothing compared to you. You are to rule this realm, it is your destiny.” Solar took a tentative step forward, uncertain, “Trust me child, you will rise from this reborn, a phoenix of power beyond understanding.” Solar closed her eyes and took her leap of faith.
