Character: Himawari + Horio

Horio was positive he found the perfect solution to his cousin's little problem.

"All we have to do is just make sure that we don't spend too much time together," said the brash young boy confidently to the girl with ribbons in her hair.

An hour and seven minutes later, the boy came back, wet and bedraggled and smelling faintly of fish.

"Half an hour!" he insisted.

Forty-two minutes later, he escaped back with long scratches on his arms and legs and a particularly nasty gash on his head.

"Fifteen minutes!"

As it turned out, fifteen was the magic number

Ah! How novel! It makes me want to know more - and poor Horio. It's a kick to see him actually applying his experiences in some context. Thank you!

Character: Misa

"Misa-Misa wants to go on a date," says the girl, mouth pursing into a sexy little moue. "Date. Daaay-toh." The words in her mouth changes, elongates with added stress.

She sits at Raito's feet, legs drawn up under her, skirt falling around her in a flurry of black and lace and her chin leaning on his thigh, perilously close to his crotch.

She is only allowed to be around on his sufferance. She knows he doesn't really like her. That he doesn't really like anyone.

But Misa doesn't care.

She pouts and nibbles at a finger, pink-slicked lips gleaming red.

This one is gorgeous, and the bit about how Raito doesn't like Misa or anyone else and yet she doesn't care killed me because it's so incredibly perceptive about Raito. Then I got to the last line and it killed me even more dead. *_*

Oh, Misa. <3 I love the little details. And just, well, Misa. She breaks my heart, really, and so does this drabble. Thanks so much!

Pairing/Character/Gen: ???/Cactuar

My Lady of the Sands (Specifically, Cactuar B)
Discovered on a cave wall in the Northern Crater, carved crudely by some sharp implement; commonly attributed to one of those who fell under AVALANCHE's sword.

My lady's eyes are
dark holes like the deepest well
in which men have drowned.

My lady's lips are
a perfect O I hope one
day to change to U.

My lady's blush is
not apparent, for her skin
is as green as mine.

As my lady flees
so shall I ever follow
step by steady step.

And that is why we
are made for each other, so
please stop killing us.

(Heroes suck.)

LAST LINE LOVE.
AND THE FACT THAT YOU WROTE A CACTUAR POEM MAKES ME FANGIRL SO MUCH.

I haven't played VII in ages and I'm trying to guess who the persona is. Not Cactuar A, I'm guessing? The only other half of this lovely, love OTP that comes into mind is a Tonberry. I'M SORRY IF I'M DENSE. D:

Yay, you caught that! The more I thought about it the more it made sense - who better to snare fickle Cactuar than he of implacable, tireless Karma?

(And thanks for the prompt; this was really fun to write. ♥)

pairing: sam & dean as kids

"We have to be strong. Tough. Or we will never be able to get that thing that killed your mom," Dean's father looked straight ahead into the distance. His eyes burned.

"Yes, sir," said Dean. He was still dressed in the suit he wore for the funeral. A stiff itchy suit, which poked him in the neck and made him itch, but he didn't scratch, not much, because today was the day mama went into the box.

He didn't cry either. Not much. The baby was doing enough crying for the three of them.

Dean turned around; the baby was quiet now. Dean turned back to his father.

"I'll be strong, daddy," said Dean.

Mama was gone.

And all the baby had left was him and dad.

Poor baby.

Pairing/character/gen: Himawari

Himawari was eight when she first heard the word 'jinx'.

She didn't really understand what it meant, but it felt bad coming from the gossiping women who would only look at her from the corner of their eyes. So she went to look it up in her children's dictionary. And when she couldn't find it there, she went to look in the big people's dictionary, the much thicker one which sat on the desk in her father's study.

She found it.

And then she looked up the words, 'curse', 'hex', and 'spell' as well.

It took her quite a long while, because there were more big words inside the dictionary that she had to look up as well. But she persevered, and in the word, Himawari got quite a good idea about what the word meant.

When she was done, she carefully closed the book and stared at the cover for a long time.

And then Himawari went outside to play.

This is great; I really like the end, and the phrasing throughout. And Himawari fic! Yay, thank you!
