Her body was limp on the table, and the infirmary was quiet until Tamara Johansen busted in with a syringe, yelling at everyone to move out of the way. They all watched in horror as TJ quickly took the syringe and injected it directly into Chloe’s heart - she had done what she could to make a shot of adrenaline, and now, to see if it worked…

She woke up screaming in agony, possibly from the wound, possibly from the shot. Either way, TJ was running to get more supplies. Others left the room looking sickly, and Rush shooed away Matthew Scott, who couldn’t seem to remember how to use his own feet. Walking over to her on the table, he saw tears running down her cheek as her body twitched slightly in after-shock.

“Rush…? Rush…” She sobbed, barely getting a bloody hand out to him before he took it, gently placing a kiss on her knuckles.

“Didn’t work…just hurts…please…” she sobbed, crying out in pain again as a fresh wave of agony hit her in the abdomen.

Difficulty danced around his eyes as he looked at the pained girl in front of him - but he knew what he had to do. Before TJ got back, he grabbed a large dose of the alien venom and shakily injected it into her arm.

“...Daddy? Daddy, I’m here…” She reached up her hand slowly to the ceiling, and Rush sobbed, grabbing her out-stretched hand.

“He hears you, Chloe. Just go to sleep, now. Go to sleep…” He stroked her hair as he said so, tears falling down his face as she faded into an unending slumber.
