“Before we start!” Lady said as she turned to Ximeña, “I should tell you that you’re not allowed to go back in time and visit your own past.”
Ximeña pouted her large, coppery lips. “Why would I want to do that?”
“To change something?”
“And why would I want to do that?”
Lady crossed her arms under her heavy bosom. “Well…um…because you did something you regret?”
“Nah…” Before Lady could ask any further questions, Ximeña turned around abruptly and asked, “Do you?”
“Do I what?”
“Visit your past.”
“Uh…that’s…uh…kind of hard.” At Ximeña’s pointed look, Lady continued. “I grew up in here. It was the weekend and summer getaway. Going back would be very hard because of all the travelling.”
Ximeña pouted slightly. She spoke her native language and at Lady’s confused look she translated, in Standard, “Just wondering aloud where my new best friend will be taking me.” There was a tone of sly flirtation in her words that made Lady think she was lying, but there was a softness in her round face that made Lady not care at all.
